Itinerary

Upon arrival at Ben-Gurion airport you are met and assisted through Immigration and Customs control by a representative of Laufer VIP airport assistance. You are then escorted to your hotel in nearby Tel Aviv. Overnight at

Mercure Hotel (or similar), Bat Yam. Meals included: No meals

Visit Tel Aviv, the modern Metropolis and the business city of Israel. We go to the colourful Carmel open air market. Also visit Jaffa, to walk its winding streets and see its Artists quarter and boutiques. Head north up the coast to Caeserea to see the Roman and Crusader ruins. Continue to Megiddo the famous "Tel" overlooking the Jezreel Valley. Drive to Tiberias for overnight. Overnight at
Kibutz Nof Ginosar Hotel (or similar), in Tiberias. Meals included: Breakfast

Drive to Safed, the town nestled in the Galilee hills and centre of Jewish mysticism. Here visit the Artists corner and old synagogues. Then drive up the Golan Heights to Katzrin to see the communal kibutz life. Also stop at Banias. Drive down to the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum; there you will see an ancient synagogue and St. Peter's house which was later converted into a church. Go back to Tiberias for overnight. Overnight at

Kibutz Nof Ginosar Hotel (or similar), in Tiberias. Meals included: Breakfast

Leave Galilee down the Jordan Valley visiting the Roman town of Bet Shean. We continue to Kibbutz Beit Alpha to see the Mosiacs. We continue and stop at Jericho, the oldest known city and then head to Jerusalem via Wadi Kelt to see the desert oasis there and the lovely monastery. Overnight Jerusalem. Overnight at
Olive Tree Hotel (or similar), in Jerusalem. Meals included: Breakfast

Start the day with a visit, then to the Hadasah Medical centre to see the Chagal Windows. Continue to Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million who perished, to visit the Children's Pavillion and the Street of the Righteous. Then to the Haas Promenade to enjoy the view of Jerusalem. In the afternoon enter the Old City through Jaffa Gate to walk through the bazaar area to the Christian Quarter to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre; then to see the excavations of the City of David, the remains that are 3000 years old. At Mt Zion see the traditional Tomb of David and the Upper Room. Overnight at

Travel through the Judean desert down to the Dead Sea to visit Qumran where the Essene enclave was and see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden. Drive along the shore of the Dead Sea onto Ein Gedi and then to Masada, the last stronghold of Jewish resistance to the Romans. Return to Jerusalem and on the way stop at the Dead Sea for a swim. Start the day a drive around the Old City walls seeing the Kidron Valley and the Garden of Gethsemane and dramatic Church of All Nations. Enter the Old City through the Dung Gate to visit the WesternWall. Then ascend to the Temple Area with the Al-Aksa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. Return to the reconstructed Jewish Quarter to see the Cardo and Burnt House. Also see the Herodian Mansions, a 2000 year old residential complex. Leave the Old City and preoceed to the New City and, passing the Hebrew University and the Knesset, visit the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed and the 2 nd Temple scale model of Jerusalem.
