Today you board your flight bound for Johannesburg, South Africa.

In Flight

Today you arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted to your hotel right at the airport.     

Airport Sun Intercontinental (no meals)

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight to Maun, Botswana.  Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted to your share charter flight to Makgadikdgadi Pans.  Enjoy your afternoon game drive. 

Jack’s Camp / San Camp (B, L, D)

Makgadikgadi Pans are nearly devoid of human habitation and give a true feeling of isolation.  Once one of the largest prehistoric lakes, the Makgadikgadi Pans is salt plains covered with grasslands and isolated “land islands” of vegetation, baobab and palm trees.  Scattered Stone Age tools have been found. 

Large herds of blue wildebeest, zebra, springbok, gemsbok and thousands of flamingos may be seen Dec – Mar.  Otherwise, wildlife includes hyena, surcate and meerkat. 

Spend a full day of viewing and photographing the animals. 

Jack’s Camp / San Camp (B, L, D)

MAKGADIKGADI PANS GAME RESERVE / MOREMI GAME RESERVE

A short flight will take you to Maun, where you will board a shared charter to Moremi Game Reserve.  Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp.  Enjoy your afternoon game drive.

Xaxanaca Camp (B, L, D)

Moremi is the most diversified of all Botswana parks in terms of wildlife and scenery.  Many people feel it is the most beautiful.  The reserve contains miles of permanent swamps, islands, floodplains, forest and dry land.  Species seen in the floodplains are such as reedbuck, common waterbuck, red lechwe, tsessebe, ostrich, sable and roan antelope, crocodile, hippo and otter.  In the forest one can find elephant, greater kudu, southern giraffe, impala, buffalo, zebra and predators such as lion, leopard, spotted hyena and cheetah.  The reserve has a large wild dog population.

Spend your full day viewing the animals in your morning and afternoon game drives.

Xaxanaca Camp (B, L, D)

Today you will be flown to Kasane.  Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your accommodations.  Enjoy your afternoon game drive.

Cresta Mowana Lodge (B, L, D)

Chobe is famous for its large herds of elephants in Botswana.  Game viewing by boat along the Chobe River can be spectacular.  Often large herds of elephant and a variety of other wildlife come down to the river to drink.  A sight of elephants swimming across the river at sunset is spectacular.  Other species include giraffe, zebra, kudu, puku, bushbuck, baboons, crocodiles, hippos etc. 

Spend your day viewing and photographing the animals.  Vehicle as well as boat game drives are offered.  

Cresta Mowana Lodge (B, L, D)

This morning, you will be transferred across the border to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.  Accompanied with your guide, enjoy a walking tour of the Falls.  Dr. David Livingstone is the first European to see the Victoria Falls and named them after his queen.  In his journal he wrote, “scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in flight.”  Spend some time here viewing and photographing this amazing wonder.

Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg.  Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted to your departure flight.
