Today you board your flight bound for Europe. 

In Flight

This morning you arrive in Europe and connect to your flight to Kilimanjaro airport in Arusha, Tanzania.   

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro, you will be met and driven to your hotel. 

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Tarangire Game Reserve.  Upon arrival, you will be met and assisted to your lodge.  Enjoy your afternoon game drive.

Tarangire Sopa Lodge (B,L,D)

Tarangire is dotted by large numbers of baobab trees, which gives the park a prehistoric look.  This is the best park on the northern circuit to see elephants.  Other species seen in this area as such as zebra; buffalo, grant’s gazelle; Thompson’s gazelle; Oryx; wildebeest; eland; impala; greater kudu etc.  Fewer tourists visit this park, allowing a better opportunity to experience it as the early explores did – alone.  Wildlife is excellent especially from July to October and in fact good year-round especially for elephants. 

Accompanied by your guide, enjoy your morning and afternoon game drives.  Tarangire Sopa Lodge (B,L,D)

This morning you will be taken on a morning game drive.  Later, you will be driven to Ngorongoro Crater. Upon arrival, you will be assisted to your accommodations.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D)

Ngorongoro Crater is the largest, un-flooded, intact caldera in the worlds.  It is known as the eighth wonder of the world, its vastness and beauty are truly overwhelming and it is believed by some to have been the proverbial Garden of Eden.  Ngorongoro contains possibly the largest permanent concentration of wildlife in Africa.  In addition, this is one of the best reserves in Africa to see black rhino.  Game viewing is good year-round because animals do not migrate like in Serengeti because there is permanent source of fresh water. Other species found here are such as lion; spotted hyena; buffalo; zebra; wildebeest; hippo; elephant; reedbuck etc.  Over 350 species of birds have been recorded. 

Accompanied by your guide, you will be driven down the crater for a day of viewing and photographing the animals.  We will provide picnic lunches for your convenience.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge (B,L,D)

After breakfast you will be taken to Serengeti.  En route, enjoy a game drive.  Upon arrival, you will be assisted to your accommodations.  After lunch, enjoy your afternoon game drive. 

Kirawira Tented Camp(B, L, D)

Serengeti is Tanzania’s largest and most famous park. It has the largest concentration of migratory game animals in the world.  It is also famous for its huge lion population and is one of the best places on the continent to see them.  The park is a World Heritage Site, comprising most of the Serengeti ecosystem, which is the primary migration route of the wildebeest.  Nearly 500 species of birds and 35 species of large plains animals can be found in the Serengeti.  The park may contain as many as 1.3 million wildebeest; 250,000 Thompson’s gazelle; 200,000 zebra; 70,000 top; 30,000 Grant’s gazelle; 20,000 buffalo; 9,000 eland; 8,000 giraffe; 1,500 lion and 800 elephant.  Most of the Serengeti is vast open plain broken by rocky outcrops (kopjes).  There is also acacia savannah, savannah woodland, riverine forests, some swamps and small lakes.  

Spend a full day viewing and photographing the animals in Serengeti.  Your guide will accompany you. 

Kirawira Tented Camp(B, L, D)

Time permitting; enjoy your final morning game drive in Serengeti.  You will be driven to the airstrip for your flight to Arusha.  Upon arrival, you will be met and driven to Mountain Village, where dayrooms have been reserved to your comfort and convenience.  Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
