adventure begins today when you board your international
flight to Europe.

Today you
arrive in Europe and connect to your flight bound for
Kilimanjaro international airport in Arusha, Tanzania. Upon
arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

ARUSHA
/ UMBWE / BIVOUAC # 1 |
|
|
Today you
will be driven to Umbwe, where you will start your climb to
Bivouac #1 at 9,515 feet. This hike is about 6 to 7 hours
from Umbwe.

BIVOUAC # 1 / BARRANCO HUT |
|
|
Hike for 2
to 3 hours to Bivouac # 2 (second cave at 11,483 feet). The
vegetation thins out. Hike for another 2 hours to Barranco
Hut (12,795 feet).

BARRANCO HUT / LAVA TOWER / UHURU / BARRANCO HUT |
|

Hike for 3
hours to Lava Tower Hut (15,092 feet). Climb through the
steep scree and blocks of rocks to the floor of the crater and
Uhuru Peak (summit) via the Great Western Breach. The climb
takes about 9 hours. Descend to Barranco, where you will
spend the night.

BARRANCO / UMBWE / ARUSHA / DEART |

Descend to
the village of Umbwe, where your vehicle will be awaiting.
You will be transferred to Arusha, where dayrooms have been
reserved to your comfort and convenience. Later, you will be
transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
